Recently, 82 of our industrial painters at Thomas Industrial Coatings underwent a thorough training on the use and best safety practices of Safespan Platform System, a system of accessing and shielding bridge decks for rehabilitation projects. The system goes up fast, provides very solid footing for workers and allows multiple trades to work on one project at once.
Training included classroom-like sessions, suspended scaffold/fall prevention and protection work, and seven hands-on stations around the shop and the yard.
Thomas Industrial Coatings’ own Tony Wheelock, Matt Thomas, Josh Teddleton and Todd Cook put on the training, educating all foremen and employees expected to work on the system.
