Wet Abrasive Blasting (WAB)
The TIC surface preparation team is experienced in using a variety of wet abrasive blasting methods , when dry abrasive blasting is not the right choice for a specific substrate or jobsite environment.
Wet Abrasive Blasting is the process of mixing an abrasive with pressurized fresh water to clean and prepare a surface. This surface preparation method is a good option for situations where dust needs to be contained or eliminated or if other blast media will damage the surface being prepared.
Wet Abrasive Blasting is often used on job sites that house heavy machinery or large turbines, as well as in enclosed spaces where dust could be harmful to crews. It may also be used in marine settings, where minimizing disturbances to the surrounding environment is crucial.
