Chemical Stripping
Chemical stripping is a surface preparation technique that takes an asset back to square one. TIC’s chemical stripping services remove layers of existing coatings without harming the substrate.
Chemical stripping is often done as a precursor to applying a new coating system to ships, buildings or equipment, and if done correctly, is a step toward prolonging the life of the asset. Thomas Industrial Coatings has the expertise to strip existing coatings from structures such as ships, buildings, tanks and equipment, without harming the substrate beneath.
TIC uses only environmentally safe stripping agents, and our team has the expertise and technical knowledge to determine which compounds will work best to remove existing coatings and maintain the integrity of the substrate. Our crews also have extensive experience with lead abatement and containment for older structures that may contain lead-based paints.
