About Project

Park Hills, Missouri, was formed in 1994 by the merger of four smaller communities. The city is located in the state’s old lead mining district, formerly known as the “lead belt.” In 2022, Thomas Industrial Coatings (TIC) executed a work plan to remediate the painted areas in the city’s water treatment facility.

The scope of work consisted of abrasive blasting and painting existing filters and associated piping. The filters were blasted to an SP-10 and coated with a two-coat zinc and acrylic system.

The piping was blasted to an SP-6 and coated with a four-coat zinc and epoxy paint system.

Containment and protection were heavily utilized on this project to keep emissions and overspray from drifting from the work area.
